How much will you spend for an Android phone with a screen-size of 5.9 inches? People familiar with phones will say – up to INR10,000. The reason for the answer being the availability of many 5.9 inch display phones in this price range. Yet HTC is aware of the fact that there are people out there ready to spend up to INR60,000 for this kind of a phone. This could be why they have priced their latest model phone at INR 61,490. The phone unveiled worldwide by the Taiwan company HTC on October 14 is called HTC One Max. It is to soon reach India as well. The model is a phablet that combines features of both a tablet and smartphone. The phone resembles the company’s leading model HTC 1. The phone’s main attractions include 5.9 inch Full HD LCD display with 1080 X1920 pixel resolution.
The phone is powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. It includes 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. Memory can be extended up to 64 GB using microSD card slot. It runs on Android 4.3 Jellybean with HTC Sense 5.5 interface. HTC first introduced Fingerprint Scanner with this phone. This technology allows the user to log into the phone by scanning the finger at the scanning point behind the phone.
This system helps secure the phone without the use of pattern lock or number lock. Presently only Apple iPhone 5S has fingerprint lock. HTC One Max is packed with a 4.0 UltraPixel rear camera along with a 2.1-megapixel front camera. HTC claims that ultra pixel is more advanced that mega pixel. HTC phone camera’s pixel size is 2 micro metre compared to 1.4 micro metre in ordinary phones. This difference in pixel size betters the quality of pictures in the HTC One Max and hence it has to be referred to as ‘ultra pixel’. Since other companies have not tread on this path ‘ultra pixel’ belongs only to HTC.
The One Max provides connectivity options of 3G and NFC. HTC has backed up this device with a 3300 mAH battery that promises 25 hours of continous talk time and 585 hours of standby time. The phone weighs 217 grams due to its bigger screen size and battery.
